Can socio-emotional competencies and diversity awareness be assessed? An overview of possibilities and challenges.
Date & Time: 29th September 2022, 11:00 am CET
Duration: 1 hour (45 min lecture and 15 min Q&A)
Lecturers: Mojca Rožman, PhD & Nina Roczen, PhD from DIPF - Leibniz Institute for Research and Information in Education
Description: Socio-emotional competencies and diversity awareness (SEDA competencies) are not as easily accessible to measurement as, for example, reading or math competencies. However, the importance of SEDA competencies and their promotion in schools is increasingly recognized. In order to promote these competencies effectively, instruments are needed to reliably and validly measure them. In the webinar, we will present different ways to do this and discuss the challenges associated with the different techniques.
Mojca Rožman, PhD and Nina Roczen, PhD, representatives of the DIPF - Leibniz Institute for Research and Information in Education, HAND:ET partner in charge of the assessment development and overall external evaluation of the policy experiment, will present different ways of measuring SEDA competencies and discuss the challenges associated with the different techniques.
