Learn more about final national dissemination event in Denmark!
Teachers, principals and other relevant educational stakeholders, especially in teachers’ professional development joined the final HAND:ET dissemination event at Aarhus University, hosted by the Danish Center for Mindfulness.
The focus of the event was on providing inspiration and sharing knowledge about the work with empathy, mindfulness and diversity in schools in Denmark and in the EU.
Experts from the field of psychology shared their knowledge and experience related to the topic of relational skills development, importance of empathy for professionals working with children and young people and working with compassion and trauma.
Moreover, this theoretical approach was supplemented with the empirical approach, findings from the HAND:ET project and other scientific studies focused on the effect of Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction for student teachers and teachers.
Finally, the event also featured practical exercises and presentations, as well as the space for the discussion. Participants were grateful for the opportunity to gain knowledge and for exchange of experiences about empathy, mindfulness and diversity in the school setting. Special interest was shown for the concept of “empowering teachers” that made them feel valued and seen.
