Empowering Educators Across Europe – Experimentation Perspectives

We present to you the key ideas and findings of a HAND:ET project, integrating the insights of a wide range of stakeholders. This book is our way of experimentally showing how the SEDA of teachers across Europe can be supported!

As teachers are reporting high levels of stress and burnout across Europe and we are faced with high number of teachers leaving the profession early, HAND:ET initiative has recognized the need to focus on teachers’ social and emotional competencies and diversity awareness (SEDA) to enable them to deal flexibly with diverse challenges of contemporary society.

We're firm believers that nurturing teachers' SEDA competencies isn't just about fostering positive connections in classrooms; it's about building a foundation for inclusive living and learning in society. By supporting SEDA competencies, we're not only empowering individual teachers but also sparking positive transformations at every level - from classrooms and schools to the broader societal landscape.

Finally, after three years, we are excited to share first of the two volume exploration aimed at experimentally illustrating the support mechanisms for teachers' SEDA across Europe.

Empowering Teachers Across Europe to Deal with Social, Emotional and Diversity-Related Challenges Volume I: Experimentation Perspectives delves into the innovative fusion of social and emotional competencies with diversity awareness, offering insights into its conceptualization, implementation, and evaluation processes. Through experimental trials conducted across European countries, Volume I serves as a testament to the transformative potential of fostering SEDA competencies in educators.

Complementing this experimental exploration, Volume II: Policy Perspectives will shed light on the role of policy in bolstering these support processes. By delineating policy frameworks conducive to the cultivation of SEDA competencies among teachers, Volume II seeks to pave the way for systemic changes that amplify the impact of educational initiatives on a broader scale.

We're all about contributing to the improvement of education, making sure teachers feel supported and empowered and classrooms are inclusive spaces where everyone can thrive. So, join us on this adventure, and let's make teaching and learning better for everyone!
